To Our Baby,
Your father and I were so happy when we heard you were coming
We wanted you from the start.
Dreams of bigger cars, more toys, less sleep, and sweet kisses
The promise of little hands, tiny feet and so many wishes.
We never got to hold you though We knew you were there
We never got to kiss you though You knew that we cared.
No farewell words were spoken
No time to say good-bye
You were gone before we knew it
Only God knows the reason why.
Your father and I are grieving,
Silent tears still flow.
What it meant to lose you
No one will ever know.
All we have left are our dreams,
We never wanted dreams,
We only wanted you.
